Just another variation of my cookset. Rather than a tuna can alcohol stove I've used an Esbit pocket stove. I demonstrate the cookset setup by cooking Spam and eggs in the great outdoors.

  • The foil on the bottom of the Esbit stove is a great idea. I wish it would have occured to me before, just like the idea of covering the bottom of your pot/mug when you heat it over the stove to avoid sooty residue. Thanks for that brillitant idea, but ........... SPAM!!!??

  • @dunfamalb

Hah ha ... yah ... a lot of guys like it for some reason.

  • Hi, how long did that cooking take? It seems like a small flame, can that setup boil water?

  • @MYTHIRDSHADOW

Yes, this type of stove is primarily used to boil water.

  • How does it taste? spam with eggs! gotta try that out!

  • @SthealthRaider

Spam is a salty processed meat that tastes like ham. Some people love it, some people hate it.

  • I did not know Spam came in a single serving pouch. Esbit fuel is expensive and hard to find. Stopped using Esbit and switched to Trangia this year. I am a Trangia collector also.

  • the space you saved with the esbit stove you can now put cleaning supplies or a moist towlette for cleaning the mess tin up enough to put everything back in it

  • Looks like a great bit of kit. Have been looking at the mess kit for a while now but have ordered one after seeing your videos. I'm going to try it with the trangia triangle, should be a lightweight bit of kit. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice job! Being a Trangia fan, I've had my eye on these tins for quite awhile. Your video has prompted me to pull the trigger and order one. I'll let you know how my spam and eggs come out! Thanks for posting this.
