Few people actually realized how brilliant Sagan was. He was prophet of sorts.
-
He speaks the truth, and its sad that so few people put his ideas into practice.

@OtonielRochaSC If only he were to simply exist, sure. But... I see no reason to suppose the existence of any such being.

Sagan knew, perhaps, a portion 0.00000000000000000001 the things of God.

@MarvelsofaLifetime i agree, totally epic :) the man had a way with words
-
@MarvelsofaLifetime I know. The first time I heard him say thos words, it was like being struck by a liberating lightning bolt. EVERYONE should study the Cosmos, its mysteries and attempt to unravel them or least love them...

Great words, great man.

This dialogue is contained in its entirety in the song "A Shift In Orbit" by Billions & Billions. And it is beautiful.
-
“the bastion and citadel of the stars…” – that’s the most epic thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
-
You and me both Carl.
"National boundaries are not evident when we view the Earth from space. Fanatic ethnic, or religious, or national identifications are a little difficult to support when we see our planet as a fragile blue crescent fading to become an inconspicuous point of light against the bastion and citadel of the stars." - Carl Sagan
