I just dug this record out of my dad's attic the other day. I still think the production is a bit too glistening on the album as a whole, and Curt's amazing playing is somewhat tarnished by too much chorus pedal (a problem that plagues alot of mid-late 80's rock records).
But that being said, "Mirage" is an amazing tune. One of the purest expressions of their psychedelic side. The Pups are truly one of a kind.
Mirage is one of the greatest albums of all time, no question, and one of my favorites, in not my favorite, Meat Puppets album- Curt's voice is perfect. Its so smooth and tranquil, lazy, but maybe because its always in the perfect place- Anything Meat Puppets/ Curt Kirkwood will always be awesome. they could cover Ke$ha and it'd be great!

Great track from the Pups! I like seeing them explore a more psychedelic side.
