A Fixed Pendulum Appliance helps patients that have crowding. The appliance has distalization springs on the posterior (back) teeth to help move the back teeth more posterior which makes space for the eruption of anterior (front) teeth.
Many times this appliance will also be used with head gear and/or a lower lingual holding arch (LLHA).

  • it has alota side effects, the skeletally supported distalizers r better.

  • @VampireBMW - that is a differ of opinion. Also, it depends on how the orthodontist asks the lab to fabricate the appliance as well as patient's growth and dentition at the time.

  • @insaness501 me too im getting it tuesday

  • I've never seen anything like that

  • i have to wear this for my overbite.how long i have to wear approximately?

  • @chloeXgarber a little less than a year for me :)

  • I have to get this wednesday, may I ask how long I have it before my braces?

  • @DrMarkBronsky but studies at the american journals, done on pendulum, distal jet, and many others, their conclusion was that any non compliance appliances, intra and inter maxi, have the following draw backs, anterior anchorage loss, distal tipping of molars, and some increase at the lower facial height, Only by using miniImplants can we prevent all those. i've read alot about the distalizing subject, and didnt find any study that says other wise, if u have a study plz let me know. Thanks Dr.
