Pedro Laza- La Papagaya

El maestro de la cumbia, sr. Pedro Laza! He buscado por el año de fabricación pero no lo he encontrado. Sesentas, por supuesto, pero quiero saber exactamente. No necesito decirles que es un disco de Discos Fuentes.

Thanks to Sean at the Flipside record sale in Toronto for allowing me to part with cash for this bad boy. If you're onboard with the real cumbia, then you know Pedro Laza is one of, or perhaps THE best.

Cumbia and Porro are some of the best Latin rythms. Cumbia is the most joyful and Porro is the most posh of Latin/Caribbean beats. This music is from the 50's-60's but young people still enjoy it and dance to it specially in Medellin, Colombia. If you wanna see how REAL Cumbia is danced, check out: "Cumbia Colombiana" in my videos. Most of the videos labeled as "Cumbia" on here are downgraded Mexican versions, not the real thing.

Aquí te respondo a tu pregunta. El disco "Cartagena Alegre" de Pedro Laza y sus pelayeros se publicó en 1961, a principios de año. El tema mas importante de este año, fue "La negra caliente" que fue editado en la primera edición de "Los 14 cañonazos bailables" , convirtiéndose en uno de los primeros cañonazos. Hi , I have a copy of this one , but in stereo pressing (Red and yellow label) . According to its matrix number cutting on the vinyl , it was released on 11/12/61 . I don't know if this is true , but I think so ...
