  • This happened exactly four years ago.

  • I'm going to have to disagree with joedotarch here... there was much more emotion in Cohen's version. Sometimes subtlety contributes emotion... just a suggestion for those of you who are thinking of covering this song. This is one of the more original versions I've seen, however. The singer's vocal stylings are very similar to the lead singer of The Format.

  • This is the only performance of this song I've ever heard that does justice to the emotional power of the lyrics. Regina Spektor's version is way too polished, light and contrived. Martha Wainwright's is just weird. Rufus' is only slighly more emotional than Cohen's original super-slow, frigid deliery. Frances invests so much nuance, expression, and honest emotion into every syllable and strum of this famous song. I will never, ever get tired of listening to this performance.

  • Wow. This made me cry. That's never happened before.

  • love hop along, she is amazing.
