The reigning Munster Senior Hurling Champions, Tipperary, will tog out out in nontraditional colours for a unique fixture this weekend but it's all for a good cause. The traditional blue and gold jerseys will be swapped for pink as they support Breast Cancer Ireland's fight against cancer.

The Tipperary Senior Hurling team will play a Munster senior hurling selection in a charity game at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Saturday next January 28 at 3pm. All proceeds will be given to Breast Cancer Ireland. Admission is €10 for adults and €5 for OAPs / students with under 16s free. A match programme will be available free of charge. O'Neills have kindly sponsored special jerseys for both teams featuring the colour pink (see attached photo) which is associated worldwide with efforts to support breast cancer patients and promote research into breast cancer treatment.

There will be an auction at half time for a signed jersey from each team. There will also be a raffle with tickets on sale for €1 and there will also be other novelty memorabilia on sale such as wristbands and polo caps.

Tipperary Manager, Declan Ryan and Munster Manager, Liam Sheedy have both stated that this game will be an important part of their preparations for their forthcoming Waterford Crystal Cup and Railway Cup games respectively.

Breast Cancer Ireland is a charity administered through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with the purpose of raising critical funding to support breast cancer research programmes in Ireland. Its goal, through Research, is to transform breast cancer, from often being a fatal disease, to a chronic illness, that can be maintained long term through treatment. Collaboration amongst all clinicians and scientists nationally is paramount, as this helps speed up discovery times and ultimately will affect more positive treatment outcomes for patients. Aisling Hurley from Breast Cancer Ireland noted "When breast cancer affects a person, it not only affects them personally but has a huge impact on their family and friends. We are delighted to have been chosen by the Tipperary & Munster Senior Hurling Teams for their event this Saturday and we wish them the best of good luck. Support for research is critical if we are going to advance a cure for this disease"

Please come along and see Tipperary and Munster's best playing in novel jerseys for a very worthy cause next Saturday.
