*Ahem* Iginla is half black and half Native... Now I believe Nazem Kadri will be that player that scores or does an incredible play when the teams needs it but he wont be scoring +40 goals a year but this kid wiill be an amazing player for the leafs if they keep hiim

Not really I agree with him. It doesn't matter what race he is as long as he is a good player and a good guy what else matters?

Kadri is not the first Lebanese to make the NHL:
Ed Hatoum (RedWings and Canucks, 1968-1972),
John Hanna (Rangers, Habs and Flyers - 1958-1968)
Alain Nasreddine (Pinguins, Blackhawks, Habs and NYI - 1998 - 2008)

Interesting development in "Ice" Hockey, as it is called in South Asia, which is home to "Field" Hockey giants Pakistan and India. Just watching him skate here, I cannot but help to notice a wristy Kadri. If this is so, there are many more where this type of talent comes from: Pakistan and India. If Canadians of Asian extraction are induced to play more hockey, I suspect there will be more and better Kadri coming through.

How do you know they don't know hockey? They might even know more than you do about the game - I'm sure you haven't gone out and surveyed every person who looks up to a player because of his race, nationality, origin, etc. and asked what they know about the game. Furthermore, nobody gives a hoot if you don't care about Kadri's race, but somebody obviously does and he should be entitled to that without all this ridiculous backlash. With all respect, you're only making yourself look foolish here.

I know hockey and leaf's history pretty well. And, at the same time, I am thrilled to see a fellow Lebanese for the first time make it into NHL. It is very obvious why Kadri's entrance to NHL would make me happy, just like Cheechoo's career makes native american proud, just like iginla's career makes blacks/nigerians proud, etc.
The only reason I can think of about you having problem with this is if you're yourself a minority and have some kind of inferiority complex.

I appreciate hockey players who contribute to the game of HOCKEY, in some way, shape or form. Kadri is solid a player. He will be a star on the leafs, hopefully. I hope the best for all our teams young talent.
Do I give a fuck about his race? NO. and i dont give two shits about people who do. They dont know HOCKEY.

JattSoorma - What is wrong with being proud of an NHL player who I'm assuming he has something in common with? Maybe he looks up to Kadri as inspiration. You can't just appreciate that?

What a fucken goof you are. When did you start watching hockey? This year? When you stepped off the boat?
Any REAL hockey enthusiast only sees talent.
1 muslim in the league makes you happy? Fuck, you have low standards. Whats the matter, white boys pick on you too much?
Im waiting for a witty comment from you arab. Couch Warrior.
To Leaf fans: if Brian Burke can't move the Leafs up in the draft, Kadri could end up a Leaf. He's rated 7th in the 2009 draft and the Leafs pick 7th. He's definitely skilled and if Toronto can't get Tavares, Kadri wouldn't be such a bad "consolation".
