I was four years old when we abandoned Plymouth I miss it so much I've never felt the same, I don't have a place I can call home :( thank you for this video
I was in Plymouth when it was abandoned, I was just four years old. We were living with a family there, and it was one of the most scary moments in my life. I'm saddened and taken back to my younger days.
You Should go Sean! Its Beautiful! I was there in 2004. Real shame about the 19 people killed and about Plymouth. I recall someone saying that they had the pain of losing the people and a different sort of pain losing the town . The person I spoke to said they stood on a hill along with a crowd of others and watched it burn. We did a round island taxi-tour which included Plymouth. It was raining and we managed to outrun a lahar! Fantastic stuff!
I was once told the people of Montserrat are the most friendliest people in the world. I thought they must have Irish blood in their veins I want to go there!
This brings back so many memories from when I first visited Montserrat in 1990 with my parents. We stayed outside of Plymouth near Bransby's Point and at night looked to the south to the lights of Plymouth. trips into Plymouth and visiting Sea Isle Cottons and the Sugar Mill near the pier. I remember the work to build up the pier after Hurricane Hugo's destruction. My first Mountain Chicken was at The Iguana Restaurant; having Goatwater at the Attic, Pumpkin Soup at the Emerald. I miss it all
That was great I was there just about the time the video was taken I loved montserrat it was the first Island I had ever been on and there I fell in love with my wife and my mistress the Carribbean! Farwell old friend rest in peace !
The scene of the man and the two girls thats my dad, sister and myself. It was my first time going to Montserrat, my dad is from there originally. It was our first vacation there, and one of the best.
Very sad story. My uncle taught in Monserrat from 1967-1971 and we visited. Its so sad to think I cannot go back and see Plymouth that I remember. His house was down the road from the Volcano. So sad. Thanks to this member for these priceless movies
so sad what happened to plymouth in 1997. dormant volcano just explodes pyroclastic flows captured on video. beautiful island devastated, but recovering with a new capital(not proclaimed yet) Braden

Any chance you'd put all your Montserrat videos on a DVD at original quality? This sure is a trip down through my memories of Montserrat....
