  • There are several points that you may want to consider:

    1. your tempo varies too much.

    2. your touch is too heavy, should be light.

    3. this is Debussy not Beethoven, therefore, the dynamic change should not be bombastic.

    4. It is very important that when you play Debussy to stick to the dynamic sign written by him to produce a very serene effect.

    5. At the beginning of the piece, you should play the p and pp clearly. It is very hard to play p and pp correctly. Hope this helps.

  • @ccoldn Excuse me, but I'm 16 and I may be playing this piece, compared to children much younger than me. Expectations for children are WAY too high these days. I hate the stress I see when things like this are said to younger students. Maybe you should congratulate this young girl for performing a piece like this at 11. When I was 11, I was not this advanced.

  • Shes Asian so I'm not impressed. Put away the child whip and let her go outside for once in her life. Maybe she won't be traumatized and long for a childhood when shes older. God bless her soul.

  • Not bad ^^ I get to know this piece from John Thompson book haha

Sounds nice and different, but it's good- definitely good for her age.

  • Yes, play slower it sounds much better then!

  • I couldn't play this at 11, and she's very good...but whos her teacher??? They did an awful job teaching her this song...... Rhythm is TERRIBLE

  • You know there's a reason why there are no decent pre-teen pianists. Playing something like Arabesque isn't just about having fast fingers. She obviously doesn't understand the piece. No amount of finesse can fix that.

  • Sorry, but you need to switch to a better teacher. Played poorly, though I hate to say it to a young talented kid. As an example, a 9 yr. old girl xuanchau98 played this piece much better:

  • great job, I am working on this piece too, I agree with dieregentropfen you need to use more pedal!!!

    thanks!

  • agree

  • .if you can't play that fast, then just play slower, some place is too fast, and some place is tooooooo slow.......kid.......

    this is bad
