Anita O'Day was (she died last year) one of those truly great jazz-vocalists who inspire to sing along. There are two reasons for this: the freedom of her delivery of well-known jazz-standards (especially while scatting) and her "camp style", which is probably best expressed in one of her titles: "Who Cares". May she rest in peace! She will always be with us in her songs.

  • Can you tell me who that is singing with Anita? I never heard this version before. I'm a big fan of Anita's and I have several of her albums.

  • It's "little me", having posted over 1 000 jazz-songs in YouTube under the names wolf175 and wolf1750 (I'm doing everything "in a big way" ;-) and I'm seeing on the right side under "Related Videos" seven more songs sung by me with Anita. Cheers! Wolf in Japan

  • I love singing along to her songs toooo!!!

  • I admire your enthusiasm —However, if this is part of your passion and, it clearly is, you will be best served to learn a little about mixing —What you want to do is blend yourself with the original mix, as you're standing out too much —That's a challenge, as you don't have the master multi-track mix where you can sing a track and re-mix the master —I would start by eliminating that echo, experiment with subtle reverbs and, mainly EQ your voice to match Anitas as closely as possible

  • Does somebody have piano-sheets of this song?

May be you know where I can get them...

    Help me, please... thanks

  • Does somebody have piano-sheets of this song???

May be, you know where I can get them...

    Please, help me((

  • I grew up on Anita O'Day. I'd walk to school in 6th grade singing all her songs.

  • I am soooo grateful, that SOMEONE did not object to my singing with her! Most Anita-fans HATE it, when I do this.

  • What a beautiful lilting free and easy expressive vocal by Anita. And old Wolfie paying a tribute to her ? Well justified W !! Hey you got her to do a duet !!!!!

  • you can't go wrong with the devine one,

no argument from me. she was trained

in classical music. my all time favorite

    is June Christy singing "something

    cool"

  • nope, Sarah Vaughn sang on the shoulders of a giant, Ella. But Sarah, way sensual. Technique, pipes, style, the whole deal.

  • how do you rate the misty miss

    christy? my all time favorite.

i guess when you rate all the

    female singers.....it must

    be ella.
