Devon's P.O.V.
That night I laid in bed trying to think of a surprise for Joe. I knew he said he didn't care about surprises and I knew he meant it, but that didn't mean I still didnt feel bad. I settled on the fact that I would buy him a guitar and this would be a slight challenge seeing as I didn't know anything about guitars. I decided I would ask Kevin about what guitars were good saying I wanted to learn to play myself, which was true, then I would go buy it with Sam and Sara while the guys were rehearsing. I got up early the next morning ready to put my plan into action and luckily Kevin was the only one up.
"Morning. Can ask your opinion on something?" I asked him.
"Yeah," Kevin replied looking up from his cereal.
"Well, I was thinking of learning how to play the guitar and was hoping you could help me pick out a good guitar to buy since I don't know much about them," I explained.
"Sure," he said as he got out his laptop. "You can't go wrong with this one," he said pointing to a guitar on the screen. "That's my preference."
"What's Joe's preference?" I asked hoping I wasn't too obvious.
"This is Joe's favorite, hes wanted it for a while so I wouldn't get it because he would be extremely jealous. Plus its really expensive," Kevin said pulling up a picture of another guitar. Without knowing it he gave me all the information I had wanted.
"And Nick?" I asked just so nothing looked obvious.
"Nick's a fan of these, but for a beginner I would recommend this one," Kevin explained.
"Thanks. Mind if I look at this for a while?" I asked.
"Sure, go ahead," he said handing me the laptop. I pretended to browse the guitars on the screen for a while before writing down all the information about the guitar that I would need. I then found a guitar shop close to the venue.
"Morning," Sam and Sara said coming in about ten minutes later.
"Hey, today you guys are coming with me so I can buy a guitar for Joe," I whispered to them.
"You're getting him a guitar?" they asked shocked.
"Yeah," I said. By this point Nick and Joe had joined the group.
Everyone finished getting ready and we met up with Amanda and Namra. We were in Paris now so of course we walked around a bit and stopped by the Eiffel Tower, which was amazing to see. After exploring for a bit we headed over to the venue so the guys could warm-up and everything. Time for part 2 of my plan.
"Hey, were going to get some food while you guys warm-up. Be back in a bit," I told them as Sam, Sara, Amanda, Namra, and I left for the guitar shop. Amanda and Namra didn't know about my plan yet.
"This isn't a restaurant," Namra pointed out as we approached the guitar store.
"I know," I said smiling.
"Bonjour, peux-je vous aider?" one of the workers at the shop asked as we walked in. Darn I wish I knew French.
"Um, anglais?" I asked hoping she spoke English.
"Sorry, can I help you?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm looking for this guitar," I said handing her the info I had written down earlier.
"Ah, yes, very expensive. You can afford?" she asked me.
"Yeah," I said as she got me the guitar and I bought it.
"You bought Joe a guitar?" Amanda asked just as shocked as Sam and Sara were that morning.
"Yeah," I replied still smiling. This was going to be perfect.
"That was so expensive though!" Namra told me.
"And?" I said. I didn't care how much it was.
"So Amanda, what's up with you and Nick?" Sam asked changing the subject.
"Well, I do like him, and I think he likes me, but he hasn't really said anything so I don't know," Amanda said looking down.
"Don't worry, he likes you, just be patient. He'll ask you out soon enough," Sara told her.
"How can you tell?" Amanda asked.
"He's always smiling when you're there. Trust me it's obvious. The Jonas boys have a tendency to make it obvious to everyone except the person they like. Sam and I both know that," I said.
"Wait Sam?" Namra asked confused. We had forgotten that they didn't know about the most recent development.
"Yeah, Kevin asked me out," Sam said.
"That's great," both Namra and Amanda responded. All of us had already become good friends.
We got back to the venue and since I knew the guys would have a break soon I sat off to the side with the guitar in its case beside me.
"Is that a guitar?" Joe asked as he walked over to me.
"Maybe, you'll have to open it to find out," I said smiling.
"It's for me?" he asked shocked. Why is everyone so shocked about this?
"Yup. Hope you like it," I said smiling as he opened the case.
"Oh My God! Are you serious?" he asked me smiling with excitement as he saw the guitar.
"Yeah," I said. Joe's reaction was perfect and exactly what I was aiming for.
"You know you're amazing right?" he asked me.
"I try," I replied laughing as Joe picked me up and kissed me. It was perfect.
grrr... it was too long so this wasn't where i wanted to stop part 2 up soon (pic of the guitar in the video btw) comment!!!
