it wasn't in service - but there are a variety of reasons:
-Test train.
-shuttle equipment replacement.
-move spare cars/engine to another outlying terminal to replace possible road failures or cycle inspections.
-shits & giggles.

and actually if you read the description I state:
First is 2792 which tonight is a 'replacement shuttle train' for one of the branches, and will get dropped on the Wye at MO for another crew to take to Put Jct, Stamford/Danbury or New Haven (Waterbury)....
