2nd test of the board that was created to simulate a ternary computer "3niti alpha" and that is based on binary microcontroller PIC16F870
You can buy it here: http://nedocon.com/store/3niti/
In this video it simulates a ternary clock (see http://ternary.info/ternary/java.php?applet=1 for Java example).
P.S. Background music was created in HipHop eJay 4 and it is not related to this board anyhow.
@SuperQUL Balanced ternary is still relatively easy to implement in hardware, but everything above is too complex to make in comparison to binary...

@Shaos1973 I think the answer is a deeper one of philosophy, there are more possibilities than just true or false. Take religion for example, you can believe in a God (Theist) +1, or not believe in a God (Atheist) -1, or you can be unsure (Agnostic) 0. Trinary or ternary is an attempt at reflecting the analogue phenomenon in computing devices. Personally I think the answer is Quaternary logic... lol.

@edithvanher ok, ternary computer operates trits instead of bits (trit may be in one of 3 states: -1, 0, +1), see 3niti.org for more details and ternary clock displays time in ternary format (every trit may be: Green means +1, White means 0 and Red means -1) - 4 trits for hours, 4 trits for minutes and 4 trits for seconds.

@edithvanher The point of what? Ternary computer or ternary clock?...

there is "Ternary clock" on iPhone and iPad:
