L-Lysine is a dietary supplement and an essential amino acid. This means our body cannot make it on its own. Since it's something that our body needs naturally (it's found in legumes for example), we cannot become dependant on it because our bodies already are to a small degree.

rub ice on a cold sore (that will freeze it) then the cold saur wont be able to tolerate the cold, and it will go away in a matter of hours

Do you suffer from painful cold sores? I did too for a very long time. I agree, it really does work. I have been plagued with cold sores for years and decided to do some research and found this video. You can buy 60 (1000) tablets for £3 to £4 from Holland & Barrett.
