@nycrtst33 ~ a fistula & shunt have been tried on numerous occasions, my circulatory system just isn't up to the task & the result is a clogged system.
I am down to my last access site via XK so I'm very guarded with it.

I started when I was 12yrs old. I'm now 36 and have been on for nearly 24 years, and proudly have never missed a treatment. This is a tough thing to go through. All I can say to you is to stay positive, take care of yourself, and get out of the house.

I started when I was 20yrs old, my uncle and mother have been doing dialysis for a little over 20yrs now. How much do you love life? Choose Life!!

Hi sweets! I was on dialysis for 5 1/2 years before my sister gave me a kidney for my birthday ( it jusy freakishly happened the transplant surgery took place on my 47th birthday). Hemo is best in my opinion. I considered PD, but I was freaked out enough with the needles (a tube hanging out of my belly would've put me over the edge. YOU are in my thoughts, as are all those who are dealing with this condition. DO NOT ABANDON HOPE!!! PMA is key(positive mental attitude. Peace, Danny

i know what you mean about PD. just the thought that i wouldn't be able to go to the pool is enough to lose my mind.
