    Ok, thanks for replying. The pump I bought is a FWB block, I don't know if it allready has the correct valves for automotive use. Externally the only difference is the absence of the front dynamo mounting that I will have to weld as you did. I hope my engine is 1460cc (FWB crank and rods) and not 1020cc but I have to check this, I don't know if an FWB casting automatically implies 1460cc.

  • From what i've read, the pumps were mostly 1020cc even with the FWB casting. Just take the head off and measure, if the bore is 3" you've got a 1460 motor.

    I am converting a FWB pump to automotive use. What did you do to the head exactly? Did you weld a plate to the front to accomodate the upper front dynamo mounting?

    I did have a plate welded to the front of the head. I also had my machine shop shave the head 040" and install larger exhaust valves. At one time i had two spare heads and was going to have on machined down 060" just to see if it could be done. The only other thing i did was slightly enlarge the ports and smooth out the rough casting spot in the ports.

  • @lotus11freak It is, i bought a 10 degree back plate from Mike Brotherwood, along with a rear main seal housing and seal.
