RAJENDRA TEREDESAI - BANSURI / BAMBOO FLUTE + SANTOOR - RAGA MALKAUNS

This is a random video clip from a live concert. The other musicians and instruments along with my bansuri are Dhananjay Daithankar (Santoor), Uday Deshpande (Tabla), Shankar Laxmanan (Ghatam) & Wasve (Pakhawaj). Raga Malkauns sounds very beautiful when played on the flute & the santoor. Like Yaman, this raga has the ability and power to evoke the highest level of expression be it romantic, sorrowful, joyous or spiritual / devotional. Like Raga Yaman, you can play and improvise in Raga Malkauns for over two hours & still feel as though you could easily go on for another four. That's the sheer beauty, profundity & magic of this raga!

This is simply fantastic! Malkauns is my fav raag and the artists are simply superb!!! Great fusion of Hindustani and Carnatic. The fl(a?)utist is very impressive! Waah ! Kya baat hai !!!
