American History X Affirmative Action clip

A great clip from American History X about Affirmative Action. This seems almost prophetic considering the recent case of the 3 firefighters (2 white, 1 Hispanic) in New Haven, CT who were denied a promotion because no African American firefighters passed the written test.

i understand this is just a movie, but what the father's character says is real world truth.. Affirmative Acttion is a zero sum game.. Liberals & Blacks cheer the fact that less qualified Blacks get work (thru the AA system), but what has happened to all the Whites & Asians who earn the spots, but get cut out. What about their families, their dreams, and their hard work (that got them there). For every less qualified Black that is given a job, there is a White who loses one. there is no net gain

@theQuest88 yes - this scene and the last scene made the movie really great. One of the best movies that I own. Not for everyone, but I wish it was more popular. "Clash" was similar b/c it dealt with the way people treat each other.
