Yeah, something like that would never happen anymore in a time like this. It wouldn't even be possible anymore.

Good job me, I watch 10 seconds more and you explained it yourself :P. I should watch the whole thing and then comment ;).

I just thought I'd mention this. You might have explained it in the stream but it was edited out here so I'll go ahead and say it anyways :P. You were right about the Mario character in the Donkey Kong game. His actual name in that game was ''Jump Man'', and after they made the game, they thought the character Jump Man could be used for other games as well. Hence why they gave him a better name and that's when Mario was born.

@MrSmartDonkey I'm surprised they didn't sue Randy Glover (the guy who wrote the Jumpman game shown in the LP). Of course, the world wasn't so litigious back then.

Retro brilliance, and some fascinating insights and commentary. Missed the stream as, being in the UK, I am on a different clock, but this is superb stuff...

@surfacelizard Glad you enjoyed it. I occasionally do them late into the evening on weekends, but not often. I also don't really plan ahead... but here's hoping you can catch one live by pure chance sometime.

The attack of the mutant camels or whatever.. is the star wars empire strikes back game from the atari 2600!

@zoh87 That's the one. Jeff Minter was a prolific game writer, and wasn't averse to "borrowing" heavily from existing games.
