The religious and historically important for Native Americans the holy places http://www.petitiononline.com/ssprit/petition.html
Sacred Sites are natural landscapes of significant spiritual value for American Indians tribes, nations and bands - there are a sanctuary, where reverential traditional spiritual practices could be performed with respect towards everything within the hallowed site. These are the places for traditional pilgrimages, prayers, burial ceremonies, searching for vision and sacrifice. They are used since the times of European colonization of North America until this day. Sacred sites are found on reservations, public lands and private lands. The most of these historical sites are now threatened by growing destruction, pollution and desecration of their sacred as a result of exploration of mines and industrial activities, permanent settlements, mass tourism and vandalism.
Let us bow before the tragic HISTORY of American Indians and DO NOT FORGET about a better today for THEM. Native Indians live is continuing and never ending struggle for freedom, tradition, honor and bread.
Remember that Native Americans still in the courts have to defend their property rights to the holy sites in accordance with signed treaties historically important (Black Hills, San Francisco Peaks).
Native Indians tribes are protesting to protect their holy sites against the ecological destruction and desecration from the hands of the large industrial corporations and excessive use of public as significant places for their religious practices.
