always liked this one, got quite a bit of play in Bakersfield, CA on KAFY - of ocurse we always sang it--Girl with no eyeballs in her eyes(thought that, that was real funny ad a kid! LOL)

@interestingfailure This is interesting. The Valiant label does say ELDO-GALLESE Productions which is making me wonder that it may be the same group? However, I do have their "Image Of A Girl" CD also with 25 songs and "Kick Out" & "Loney Surf Guitar" is not on it. Kick Out was written by Gallese, Norton, Todd & Gunnels, Image Of A Girl was written by Clasky & Rosenburg. It does seem strange they'ed do a 2 SURF sider, unless it was just the Phantoms Band?
BTW it does have the Wipe-Out sound

@hxo20292 Did he say why they recorded a surf single? I don't get the connection--a great doo-wop group doing a surf single, or was it just the Phantoms Band?--other than the similarity of the names and maybe they thought they could get something going from that. I don't have a turntable, so I haven't played it in years, but I remember it as being pretty good, great production, etc. Seems like some money was spent on it. Did it ever do anything?

@interestingfailure The record your refering to is called "Kickout" on thre Valient label and yes its the same group. I have spoken to Marv Rosenburg who was a member of the group and one of the writers of "Image Of a Girl" and he confirmed that they recorded the instrumental for the Valient label

THANK YOU!! Hard song to find and is my fav by this group...looked online for over a year before comging across this! Like a previous listener said, rarely played byut did get some air time in LA!
