The TXSG has been deployed on border missions (Border Star I-VII) for the past several years, but they're border monitoring. The TXSG does intelligence collection and dissemination in an office setting and not actually boots on the ground monitoring.
It's not that we aren't trained in combatives, it's just that fighting isn't a mission of ours. It's unlikely we'd find ourselves in a confrontation apart from a riot or civil disturbance. But war fighting? That is not what the Texas State Guard does.
