Zombies Ate My Neighbors, also known as ZAMN, was a game released for the SNES and Sega Mega Drive, in 1993, by Konami.
The game features two teenagers, Zeke and Julie, that have to save their neighbors from a zombie invasion, going from swampy cemeteries to medieval castles.
The game is a gun and run 2D platform. The goal of the player is to save all neighbors from the sci-fi/horror movie monsters: werewolves, killer dolls and giant ants, among others.
The game has also several references to pop culture, making the game even cooler to play. E.g., some level names are parodies of some movies, like in Dance with werewolves (from the movie Dance with wolves).
The game was a success, and is still played. Differently from a lot of other 2D platform games, this one is very hard (i still haven't finished the game), and playing, without a doubt, is a nice pick in a rainy afternoon. You can also call your friends to play in a 2 players cooperative mode. Have fun!
