I personally liked the version where they both played together,,, it was pure magic, combining my two favorite artists.... it was on some late night or variety show !!!

One person needs their ass kicked.

Neil and Waylon - two of my heroes - Neil was hanging round Nashville way back in the 60's - must be his Canadian prairie roots. I like Walyon's version of this song better.

@truant1277 Thanks truant. Without that little bit of help from you, I just may have been confused forever.

@jack34695 OK, I hope by now you both got you facts straight and realized that Neil Young wrote "Heart of Gold" and "Are You Ready for the Country." It's on the Harvest Album 1972 and cites that all words and music are written by Neil Young.

i bought the original vinyl record of this album about 3 days ago, through and through solid album

@jack34695 damnit...I checked it all out dude, you're right! This is spinning my world around...see, I always thought James Taylor wrote Iron Man...but now...I dont know what to think...I mean, I always thought that was the only hit ol James T had. Now he's dead to me.

@RuggedZach C'mon man... get your facts straight. Everyone that knows anything knows that "Heart Of Gold" was written by Neil Sedaka and NOT Johnny cash... Neil was god. I always loved his originals. Especially that monster hit of his, "Iron Man".

@jack34695 I'm sorry, I just dont see where you are getting that, ol chap. I mean, Neil Young is the man, dont get me wrong...I love that gnarly lil hillabilly...but you cant just go around giving him credit for this song...next thing you know you'll be thinking and telling people Neil Young wrote Heart Of Gold instead of Johnny cash...
I accidentally clicked on a Brad Paisley video, ughhhh, I had to come hear to wash away the bad taste.
