  • Heh, I bought an acoustic guitar yesterday. Got a decent one for cheap from a mate who didn't need it. I'll use your video as a tutorial on how to play this song :)

  • @Poerisija Sorry, make that E, D, and A. Not G, D, and A.

  • You're great, thanks for the video. I picked up guitar a few months ago, have been studying chords and theory and some very simple and basic songs, this song was the first "real" song I've tried.

    You also sing nicely.

  • Thanks for the very kind comment! Theory is by far my weak point, the fact that you're picking it up with a guitar is quite impressive, and it should very much help with your playing in the future.

I really enjoy Flogging Molly songs, for the most part they're not particularly hard to play acoustically and they're fun to sing.

Thanks again for the comment! Hopefully we'll be seeing stuff from you soon, as well. =p

  • koeryn, it's a real good performance. If only you could find a mate with an accordeon. But it's still fine without. Great work.

  • Haha, of all the musicians I know, not a one of 'em plays accordions/squeeze boxes. Thanks though, I'm glad you liked it!

  • @koeryn Which strumming pattern do you use?

  • that was nice:)

  • @ekelena

Heh, you've actually hit on one of my weaker points. Really, I've only got a couple suggestions.

The first is to just play with the song, you'll pick it up as you practice.

The second: Make it up. Especially if you're doing a cover where you're singing, just find a strum pattern that's easy for you to play while you're singing, and go with that. It might not sound like the original, but where's the fun of doing a cover if it's exactly like the original?

  • Will do.

  • Maybe one day!

I really enjoy Flogging Molly, and I was happy to find out that their songs aren't too hard to play.

Theory is buh-boring but I my mother bought me "The Guitar Handbook" when she heard I've started playing, and I'd hate to see such an expensive book to be left unused. :p

    Keep on rocking!
