Buy a large hammer with a long handle, every day starting close to the head with one hand rotate the hammer to the left and to the right like a propeller do both arms alternating 10/time never count how many you do you do it until you collapse - keep moving further away from the head of the hammer until you are at the end of the handle it takes about 3-6 months, then when a guy attacks you with a knife you can grab his wrist and stab him in the throat with the knife still in his hand.

Knifes are banned by the Victorian government, so no one has 2 worry any more, as these situations WILL NOT happen 2 any other person, inside or out side of prison,in the great state of NEVER NEVER LAND! I cut my stake with an axe now & axes are no danger 2 the general public!

Yes, things can happen fast, but, a huge majority allows a "tool" or "tools" for the good guy take into action extremely fast. Those tools make a huge difference. My point is, if a good guy is caught bare-handed, they have not given much thought to their self defense. It is foolish to be defending yourself bare-handed, just as it is foolish not knowing how to use the tools you carry.
