The juggernaut, a Volvo FH12 owned by CONCERT HAUL of Dartford, was pulling a container owned by UNIT45, The Dutch 45ft container specialist, who have introduced Europe's first truly intermodal 45ft reefer container. The driver thought he could find the M25 via South Nutfield. He got stuck on the RHS of the Avenue, and couldn't move. He was towed up the Station Approach by a local farmer and his Unimog, this enabled him to reverse back on the LHS of The Avenue so he could now turn the corner and aim between the two cars parked outside The Station Hotel, without hitting either.

  • That's a classic...At about 2 mins, the bloke filming says "He's got the power he might not have the traction". By Christ it's a Unimog!

  • @JuicyJaffa Unimog, Unimog

  • what did he hook tow rope to? is the pintle that low on a unimog?

  • Hi Ylossk

Not sure, only info I have is on the video.

    Cheers

  • God lord. Trucks use frozen rivers for roads in Alaska, and you can't get something moving on barely covered pavement? Get a little grit or do something or...something.

  • I know, aren't we amazing!

  • a friend of mine has a unimog 406 and has pulled several semi-trucks out.once he pullec out a volvo semi with a trailer and on the trailer was an excavator. volvo was sunk to the axles in mud and the 406 pulled it straight out! its a shame that i haven't any footage of it. and also the tires of the 406 where so worn out that they almost didn't have any profile. so i think that unimog deserves a big bravo!

    greetings from belgium!

  • @altractors thanks for the info.

  • @Ylossk it's got a tractor back end pretty much so he'll be attached to the drawbar (like what you'd attach a trailer to)

  • I used to live here in the 70's

My old school friend Barry Nash lived opposite.

If you were around South Nutfield back then, you'd probably remember Bertie the pig who lived at the pub, that was until he bite someone's finger that came through the fence :-(

George the golden retriever used to spend his days up past the station where railway sleepers were stored if he hadn't followed me to school !

Anyone remember the pub fire ?

I was dropped out a second story window to safety. It was a big fi

  • Yay! Reminds me of when I took the Mog to Colchester Garrison Open Day. Pongo on the gate wouldn't let me in because I didn't have a pass. Then his boss came over and asked me if I could tow the motorbike display team's artic out from where it was stuck. I said I'd love to, but the nice man on the gate won't let me in. You can guess the rest... one severe bollocking later and we towed the lorry out without any fuss. Unimogs: every neighbourhood should have one!

  • @Ylossk It has an agricultural three point linkage and hitch.

  • LANDYYYYYYY

    haha i saw a land rover :D
