@xMichaelJacksonGirlx so sad, they are selling the parts of rides and everything for scrap. And Katrina hit in 2005 sometime in august, it was horrible :( u never went there cuz im not even close to NOrlands

That's like heaven to me!! I'd love to take all those old computers, fix em up, and sell em!

I cried watching this video. It looks absolutely terrible. I remember waiting in that area for tickets , and to see it looking like that , hurts ):

/@gregmyersjr no one cares so you can walk in

This is so scary. I remember I went the summer of 2004 while visiting my aunt and it was the best time of my life. Also when I rode the gold miner roller coaster thing I busted my lip for the first time.

@gangsterparadice We weren't there to take anything except the pictures you see here. That, and the company's first priority would have been to get the cash before Katrina hit, anyway.

Most parks are not very profitable. When storms come and destroy them all it does not make any sense to rebuild it again as it take years to return investment costs. At least where I live, I think.

@Potew I bet you're right, the maintenance costs, insurance and payroll must be insane for an operation like this. It's probably more costly to tear down, rebuild and/or repair than to start from scratch. I guess that's why ticket prices are so high. That, and the economy isn't great at the moment, so fewer people are willing to pay for such an unnecessary cost. Thinking about this, it would make more sense to make it a bit safer and reopen as-is as a paintball/airsoft arena, perhaps?
