he seems to like the closeness he would otherwise get by sleeping in a tree hollow. I've tried sharing my bed with my parrot, but he just craps on me...

Yeah, for about 2 months of a year, most cockatoos (or any big bird for that matter) get pretty hormonal and, as a result, very aggressive and unpredictable. It'll pass, but until it does, avoid touching the bird's back or under the wings, as these encourage the hormonal behaviour, If the behaviour persists longer than 1-2 months, you may just have a slightly messed up cockatoo (they do exist) or you should take her into an avian veterinarian for a full physical.

hi do you ever get randomly bit by your cockatoo, i have one and i pick her up (she is willing to get picked up) and then all the sudden she lunges for my chest.
please respond Im so confused about mine that i just dont know anymore. when were on the couch she will play and put her head next to my leg like that for a pet, then all the sudden lunge and my arm. do you have to same problem? i just want to know if they are all like that or if it is something else

Ted is pottytrained but i dont let him sleep with me at night, he's a bird and tends to bite in the dark if i touch him without talking
