There is more to this story than has been revealed.
Like Gary Webb, Chauncey was working on a story about the government. His computer was stolen out of an old car trunk after the funeral.
I pray for justice for Chauncey and freedom for the rest of the people of good will. Where are Chauncey's notes on the police story? Publish.
I miss you Chauncey Bailey. May the voices of Oakland, CA on the web fill the vast void left by the silence of your body's voice.
Chauncey is a spirit, not a ghost.

"It's a lot deeper than that."

Chauncey Bailey is now a spirit, not a ghost. Justice will be served.

Long live Chauncey Bailey.

Thanks for asking. The love of Chauncey's life, Robin Hardin, who spoke at the funeral is my source that the computer was stolen.
The problem with this case is the police could be talking to the wrong folks, for whatever reason. What did witnesses, if any, see? Who benefitted from the murder? Whoever is really investigating this case needs to talk with Robin. Research Chauncey's reporter's notes. This could be part of a pattern bigger than, but including the murder of Chauncey Bailey. Peace.
