  • I'm a junior in high school and have been playing marimba for 3 years. Currently I'm the front ensemble section leader. Do you think this would still be too technically challenging to play?

  • @planeguy5

Hey Planeguy. It is really hard to answer your question - as long as I do not now precisely

your level of technique and so on.

    try it? Best regards.

  • Very well done, I love the interpretation. Might I ask what mallets you are using?

  • thanks. the mallets I used were kollberg mallets.

  • wow! wonderful! :)

It did not turn out as I wished.

    make requests for bookscore.

    i desire Libertango Marimba bookscore.

  • thanks. you´ll find the score @ the malletech homepage (mostlymarimba)

  • @planeguy5 im a freshman and marimba one at my high school....id assume you should be able to :)......i am,,

  • @planeguy5 I AM FRONT ENSEMBLE SECTION LEADER TOO!! AND I AM A JUNIOR!!!...but i have been playing for 6 years...just thought i would let you know

  • Absolutely beautiful. Well done! There are so many mediocre performances of this piece on youtube, rushed or poorly interpreted, but this is fantastic.

  • @ravel111

medium soft birch shafts, your on the bottom octaves of the marimba the whole time.

this is my solo right now and i found for the accents sounded better because the number one mallet tends to slam unintentionally if you dont control it in the technicality and speed of the piece. but theres accents on those notes, it just sounds and blends better.

  • This is a great performance of a great piece! I am just wondering what kinds of mallets would you recommend for this? I am looking to buy some harder mallets since all I have are medium-soft mallets. Any specific mallets you would recommend?

    Thanks!
