For all those who keep writing saying Johnson did not resign from the presidency, what we meant to say was "he resigned himself from the presidency".. It was a scripting error..

good...Id like to have seen included a sound-bite of the much-screened LBJ speech in Australia, where he declares about the Australians then standing in Vietnam, that he and every American are with them, all the way..

That speech is fascinating, LBJ pounds his fist on the podium at a Parliament House function, whilst guests smoke cigarettes freely, another time another place etc etc.. There is an official colour film which covers the LBJ visit of Australia. It was produced by the then Commonwealth Film Unit and runs for roughly 30 mins. i also congratulate you. It has often been said Holt spent life wanting approval, a father figure. Hence his odd devotion firstly to Menzies then to LBJ.

Thanks Tom appreciate your comments what I meant to say re: resign was he resigned himself from the presidency.. was a scripting error..i know he chose not to run in 1968..again thanks for your comments
