5.0 efi no money upgrade

here is an introduction of he first of my vehicles, and a short how to on how to improve your fuel economy and power, with this easy no money mod i noticed an instant increase in power and get up and go, as well as a noticeable increase in fuel economy. the truck is christened Dark Wing Truck and is a 92 F150 XLT. running true dual exhaust, which is header to glasspack dumping under the cab.

Your really not getting the full potential out of the intake and exhaust if you don't have the computer in the truck reflashed with a proper tune for more air intake, and the free flowing exhaust, which is probably hurting more than helping.

@chevysb400 You may be right, but since my exhaust is non existent and the o2 sensor doesn't get hot enough to give a proper signal so it runs hellishly rich. So I'm happy with the little boost this mod has given to my mileage. But I picked up this truck for 400 bucks with a blown motor and a fresh motor in the bed. So its a beater for me. I got me $400 of use out of it.

@TealMobile1994 Not that I could tell. but I'm running manifolds to glasspacks dumping under the cab. Shes so loud I can't drive with the windows all the way up with out the cab resonating and giving me a head ache. This video and the exhaust video don't do the exhaust note justice.

it works better if you leave it right side up and buy a $12 hose from autozone, and running it from the box to the hole in the wheel hub. i dont have an exhuast either, and i now get about 16 city. 5.8l 94 f150 xlt W/213kmiles.

@emh00lah It depends what it runs for sensors and etc. Most computers can't account for increased intake airflow and exhaust velocity, or they can't use it efficiently with the tune the computer receives from the factory, and especially with that old of a truck. Really 99 percent of bolt on mods still need a computer tune to work correctly just because of how the affect the engine
