@tomperanteau - Thanks mate, i was recording sound using a Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic plugged in directly to the camera. The Canon 550D has no audio gain control and is default to auto gain. Listening to the stuff i shot, it sounded distorted and very limited and really wasn't worth mixing into the video. thank you for the comment. :-)
