In a semi-final round World Cup Qualifying Match for World Cup 1994 held in Burnaby BC, Canada defeats the Shaun Goater-led Bermuda 4-2. Alec Bunbury scores a hat-trick (all set up by Dale Mitchell, Canada's all-time leading goal scorer) to stake Canada to a 3-0. Bermuda get two goals on the counter against the run of play, one of which was actually offside, before Geoff Aunger scores the 4th goal late to put the game away. I don't know how this Canada didn't make it for USA '94: they had a strong team and Australia wasn't so good at that time. I think that, with a little improvement, Canada can fight with Costa Rica and Honduras for reaching WC 2014.
