This is a mockup/prototype of the HANNA TURBINE. It is a new, highly efficient bi-directional ocean Wave Energy Turbine to be used within an oscillating water column system. It can be built into existing jetties and breakwaters. It can also be attached to the legs of offshore oil drilling platforms. The turbine can be mounted on anchored floating platforms or buoys. The device is scalable up to three meters in diameter. It will generate utility-grade electricity by driving two conventional induction-type or unipolar generators from a common axle shaft. Multiple arrays of HANNA TURBINES on a breakwater or pier could provide unlimited clean power for coastal communities throughout the world. It would be ideal for remote islands. The HANNA TURBINE is the invention of John Hanna. Provisional U.S. Patent No. 61/401,340 has been issued. Interested parties wishing more information my write to: wetgen@gmail.com.
