@phill488 gretsch pro jet
-
what kind of gretch is that?
-
@ludwigstwenty4seven Just putting it out there... you need to listen to the original cause Hendrix really didn't use massive saturation, the opening phrase is pretty clean and you can here he was using a strat in position 2 bridge and middle... sorry to break it to you.

I just looked at the recording of voodoo child on your website, was it the same guitar used in both recordings? Because both sound great!

@rusher38 Yes it was the same guitar used in both recording.
On this recording, I used my computer, directly linked to the tubescreamer, without an amp.
On my website, I was testing my (old) new recording microphones and mixer. And I think that i was not using a tubescreamer but VOX dualOverdrive.
Thank you for visiting my website but sorry for the crap design. I'm going to creat a new one... more "professional " ^^

for everyone who says this needs to be played with a strat hendrix played with so many effects and so much distortion that the definition of the pickups was probably lost so you could play 10 different guitars that would sound relatively similar

This recording is crap because I was not using my amp. Now I play with a fender hot rod and I can get a very similar sound with the gretsch and an old tube screamer. I am recording some new songs for my web site and youtube. Maybe a new version of Voodoo Child with my best sound.
