If you wanna get rid of it or at least make it dissapear really really quick, something that has worked for me the fastest.

I have used abreva and after getting fed up more times than i can count, i know for me it does absolutely nothing. Oh and make sure its a lip balm that you didn't use when you had the cold sore. If you think you may have used it before you realized you had one then cut off you top and wipe with a tissue. Soak the cap in hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol.

Just another person trying to sell us something... I got a cold sore and tried varies home methods. The best I've tried is pure apple cider vinegar. Using a tissue or q-tip I kept reapplying and holding up on there until it stopped stinging. Within a few hours the cold sore had completely dried out and formed a scab. Hydrogen peroxide is also good for keeping the area clean. Also because this will dry out your lips, to prevent cracking and bleeding apply non scented lip balm with a q-tip.
