This is a video of a step sequencer I made using Ableton Live and TouchOSC. The template is from youtube user http://www.youtube.com/user/hewhothereso. I edited the template to add 4 more sounds per step (8 sounds per step, 16 step sequencer).

We will use this type of thing in our shows for our band, The Michael Rambo Project. Check out our site, www.themichaelramboproject.com, for details/dates/etc.

Future work will include adding the nanopad functionality with an XY pad, mapping out pan, volume, etc tracks for each instrument, and a less CPU intensive solution to controlling multiple instruments without having to remap everything.

Here is the link to an edited version of what is here. There still needs some mapping laid out, but you can see what's there and what's available.

  • GG. This is the set up I've been thinking about investing in. So far all I have is Ableton on my iMac. An iPad with TouchOSC is kind of tops on my list as far as a controller.

  • Awesome work very inspiring

  • Fantastic Tutorial man... Thanks so much for posting

  • timid soul.

  • Great video! Nice to see someone doing something useful with my little template. Especially, since I myself haven't used it for ages. I also like the idea with the audience participation. Wish you (and your iPad) best of luck with it.

    Cheers,

    Axl
