I bought this used wood splitter that works 100% better than I thought it would. I'm not sure they make them like this anymore, but if they do they work great. It has a Stickler Cone on the end, which I know you can buy. I thought it might be very dangerous, but with some precaution it is not. I do have a long lever hooked on the PTO shaft that I can pull and turn off from behind the splitter. You must have a long enough piece of wood to "catch" on the ground. This was a piece of stringy white elm and it split it quite easily.

  • Where can i get the tractor mount part? I already have the stickler cone.

  • @MrLeonard55 I bought it used, someone had already built it, if I had your email adress I could send some pictures and measurements if maybe you gould build yourself

  • thats crazy...someone on eBay sell one that attaches to your truck hub/axel!.........it looks like you need a 36" fireplace for the size of that split wood!

  • Tehe "cone" part is sold as a Stickler and is sold to be put on a hub/axle. This Stickler as you can see has beeb adapted to fit on tractor PTO. You can split pieces of wood as small as you want. :The length of my wood stove reuies me to only have pieces about 16 to 18 inches long and fairly small pieces. They don't sell this splitter as I have shown anymore, but if one would be mechanically adept, one could buy Stickler Cone and make one.

  • I did attach a rod to the pto shaft so I could tun it off, but to my amazement. the cone is smooth and it would be hard to catch your clothes if you are careful, tho probably not impossible. After

I have used it for a season, I feel very comfortable in running it.

  • @gary456xyz it is the Stickler in a clockwise rotation. Now they only make them in a counter clockwise version. I have an old brochure from Stickler showing this exact unit.

  • I got drunk after I watched this video.

I want to get drunk and split wood with this splitter

  • :47 pantleg gets caught...

  • I have a PTO splitter that's very similar to this one. It's called a "Bark Buster." I love it!!

  • I emailed the company that makes the Stickler. They said that their product cannot be used on a tractor PTO because it rotates in the wrong direction. This video is apparently another brand, possibly imported from Europe.

  • @spudpail SPEED, and tonnes less maintenance, one moving part vs valves, lines cylinder pump and engine, tractor maint. notwithstanding

  • That would be great. My email is LTDH@aol.com Thanks

  • This is all well and good, but what's the advantage over a conventional splitter?
