DANGEROUS Beach tunnel

Its was about 7 feet long and goes to about 4 feet deep in the middle. It took about 5 hours to make with nothing but our bare hands
It was pretty scary because its so dark and tight you can barely move. Not to mention the thought of it collapsing on you.

@Daz555Daz yeah, okay, I guess I can see what you mean, that would be pretty heavy. maybe you wouldn't die instantly, but, I can appreciated how dangerous that is.

@omamder5 If that tunnel collapsed the person underneath would not even be able to breath such is the crushing weight on their chest. If they were not dug out from above immediately they would be dead.

Many people, many times young teens get killed every year this way. Your fungame can turn into most terrible way of dying in a split second!
As a lifeguard we warn beachgoers with shields on our beach:
Attention: Life Danger!
Digging deep holes or tunnels is strictly prohibited.
Risk of suffocation and death when holes or tunnels collapse.

@wikiwuki yea i know me and my friends made sand houses on the side of a big mountain of sand and i got crushed by like 400 pounds of sand fully buried my friends had to dig me out..

i have been buried up to my neck in sand before. you can't even move. It's like 300 pounds of sand holding you down.

if it collapsed, I'm sure you could've dug yourself out going up, as sand is pretty easy to go through at the top. Pretty cool thing to do. I'm trying to find a place where I can dig a hole in dirt with a shovel, 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep, just like the book. I always wanted to do that in a desert, but there aren't any around here.

thats true but wouldnt if the tunnel colapsed you would be worried more about the person (unless you didnt like them XD)

He could get crushed under the sand if it collapsed on him.
I once dug a tunnel like that; a fat guy was walking right on top of it and he ended up getting stuck in it :P

yeah we were actually very scared of it collapsing on us but afterwards we jumped on it trying to destroy it, and we couldnt
