@richpal83 actually there is a fabulous collection with all sorts of mention (including the original Menezes recording) called "Afro Brazil" released in 1988. It can be found at several places online.

And the relation to the title "A history of Ifá" is because according to Pierre Fatumbi Verger @Lendas Africanas dos Orixás, the orixá Oxaguian would have been born at Ifé ( or Ifá, it varies from book to book ) and that would be somewhat the history told by Margareth Menezes at this music. On a short form, ofc :) but amazing music.

And you can try some search on Olodum and Margareth Menezes, and try to find some kind of remix of these artists... perhaps you find some great versions... Rita Ribeiro is also something to look up to
Hope I´ve helped some :)

Elegibo or Eléèjìgbó is the title conceived to Oxaguian, an orixa from the african religion Candomblé, and means the King of Ejigbo, a city from the Osun province. The root of this music is based on the afro rythm called axé ( the ancient, not the one played nowadays ) from Brasil, Bahia, and even before from rythms that come from africa to Brasil. You can find the original version searching for "Uma história de Ifá" at youtube

Hey all, this has got to be the one song that I can connect with summer clubbing. It is such a mad beat and always gets me pumped. Can anyone tell me what Elegibo means and where else I could find more music that sounds like this mix? Maybe even what kind of music would this be called? Thanks
