RAVEL Piano Trio in A minor. Svyatoslav RICHTER - Piano, Oleg KAGAN - Violin, Natalia GUTMAN - Cello. Live from the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, September 18, 1983.
@konotoso I was just thinking the same thing. I was in the middle of listening to the recording to which I'm most accustomed and clicked on this by mistake, but now I can't resist giving this a full hearing.
Impressive!!! Really, impressive. Wonderful performing. And this music is so actual, so modern that it's incredible it's been composed so many years ago. Ravel is more up-to-date everyday.
Wow! I like this recording. I think Natalia Gutman sounds better here than Piatigorsky does on the famous recording with Heifetz, Rubinstein, and Piatigorsky. I like her interpretation and sound. She is great!

The three giants are just as great as always. This piece is in its most beautiful and melancholy sense under their hands.
