Blackpool - 1930's

Moving on to the 1930's this film shows Blackpool back then. Scenes filmed outside Central Station and again along the seafront. Shame this fine resort hasn't aged to well and hope its gets a newer smarter image that it rightly deserves! Long live our northern resorts!

@jake27990 Blackpool is too historic to go about wiping its character away. What is wrong with it is that it lost its family appeal, it became more of a stag/hen night rather than something for a whole family to come and stay in. Its gradually getting back its family appeal. The tower complex and the Wintergardens are outstanding complexes, they need to make good use of them and show them off. They also need to get the B & B`s to a certain standard.

They should turn it into Europe's Vegas. Build some world class casinos, 5* hotels, shopping malls, British walk of fame, better amusement park, better arcades, clubs, bars, and maybe a blackpool sign like the hollywood sign. Turn it into a real tourist spot. It'd be amazing, reclaim its name as a world class tourist location, get people going again and make lots of money. It wouldn't be a seaside place anymore really but thats what we have brighton for and its much nicer. We dont need two
