Community Channel's UK 360 is a brand new fortnightly television magazine show bringing you inspiring news and stories from local communities up and down the country. UK 360 gives a voice to these communities and to the local individuals and organisations that are positively improving their neighbourhoods at a grass-roots level.
In the first episode we head over to Cornwall to find out how Wadebridge is on it's way to becoming Britain's first solar powered town. UK 360 then heads over to Stapleton Road in Bristol, reporting on an inspirational gardening project taking place in an unconventional location. Eastside Roots' documents the transformation of a disused railway station into an interactive platform garden for the local community. With this years riots in mind, World Film Collective have been working with disadvantaged young people, making one-minute films that aim to explore and understand the underlying issues behind the riots. Last month saw Your Square Mile's first annual summit. UK 360 reports on how this national organisation plans to empower anyone, any age, anywhere to transform where they live. This film concerns a community project in Gorleston, Norfolk as local builders support a new apprenticeship scheme designed to improve skills and create a new youth facility.
