I just finished up this head gasket job on this 1994 Honda Accord EX F22b Motor. I did this on the side for a small dealer. This guy keeps my quite busy, and I have another Acura Legend that I need to do a head gasket on. This job took me about 4.5 hrs to do. These are not too hard to do. The dealer didn't want me to replace the timing belt, or waterpump, always a good idea to do after you do a head gasket. Car rans great when done! Typical Honda that overheats, and dumps coolant out the coolant overflow. Enjoy this video!

  • This is why I hate aftermarket HG, because some don't have markings to let you know which side goes where.. I preferr OEM Honda gasket.

  • @nusdogg This was a tutorial video I was doing. I just set the head gasket down on the block to show it. I've never had any problem's with these JIS Engines gaskets I've used. The head gasket does have a tab on it that says up. I perfer to use the graphite gaskets on older Accord's. I think the graphite gaskets just seal better.

  • Please can you help me regarding the head gasket replacement on Honda Accord 1996 XL 2.2L 4 CIL -Regular Engine NOT VTEC. I have received today head gasket set for the replacement and on the New head gasket have no marks on either side –WHICH ONE SHOULD BE AT THE TOP?? There are only numbers engraved on one side. I don’t know which side should be on the top facing the cylinder head when put on?? Does numbers on the gasket should be turned LEFT towards- exm battery or RIGHT towards timing belts

  • @OttomanSaraj The new head gasket should say top. When it says "top" this side of the gasket goes face up.

  • i just change the gasket in my honda accord 19994,but still is overheating, i did everything that the book said,do you have any idea what can that problem be??.

  • @skyjuanjuarez

Did you have the head resurfaced and pressured checked? Its very important that if you didn't have this done, that this be done! Are you pushing coolant out the overflow resivour? Its very possible that if you didn't change the thermostat, that its stuck in the closed position not allowing coolant to circulate through the engine.

  • would have said no to that side job for how cheap he was

  • @agarcia2044 I NEED THE SAME HELP

  • did you remove the intake with the head? cant tell really since that car is a POS....cheap ass owner huh....

  • this might be kind of a dumb question, but can you elaborate on the belt tension? Basically I had my belt and water pump replaced less than 10k ago and now my head gasket let go. I have the valve cover and exhaust manifold off. im trying to figure out how to loosen the top of the belt like you did there and then how do you tension it back? do you just loosen that bolt? nothing to pull on? how does it regain tension?

  • yeah.. ill jusst sell my car :( damn blew today. 1995 civic lx

  • i just blew my gasket...can anyone help me out with a step by step process???thanks

  • And everyone always says Jews are cheap...

  • @civicboy123 Yeah, at least it's got the tab that says "UP" then your all good. I'm all about OEM when it comes to R&R an engine besides performance parts.
