Pot activist, Marc Emery, visited City Lights Bookshop on May 5, 2008. He has a special connection to our shop as we bought it from him in 1992! Just google his name or: http://www.cannabisculture.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Emery http://www.pot-tv.net He is also the founder of Cannabis Culture Magazine and of Pot TV.

  • I guess time will tell the story!

  • Well, Marc is still very much involved with the Marijuana Movement and they with him. Even if he goes to prison he will not be neutered, as you say. He is a life long committed activist and will keep going until the end. Love him or hate him, he is more interesting than the average person, as he does and says what the rest of us merely think in our heads. He certainly inspires strong feelings as you can see!

  • Those must have been some amazing years!

  • Dude is 4-real!

  • I just watched Mark on A channel in London and I had no idea that he was an such an important member of this city, I am not a marijuana smoker but I am a supporter of marks movement, there is nothing wrong with pot (no more than alcohol or cigarettes) and I hope that some day the negative status that pot has garnered over the years is abolished and that those serving time for a crime that should not exist are freed and have their records expunged

  • I remember back in the 80's as a young kid going down to City Lights every Sunday and greedily buying up comic books.

Half off the cover price or a minimum of a quarter baby!
