Genital mutilation "circumcision" of boys and girls must come to a quick and complete end.

@BartvG88 , there are no health benefits to circumcision. Everyone uses this excuse but have yet to bring one convincing benefit that cannot be gain via proper hygiene and responsible sexual behavior.

@erin23kate I haven't heard about those studies. But it can't be that bad because you don't hear the billions of men who have been circumsized that they barely feel any pleasure. But I do agree that it is a stupid tradition. Even if it had health benefits, The body still belongs to the child, and no-one has the right to cut anything off it. It should be the choice of the man when he is old enough to decide for himself. Same goes for religion , but that is another story.

@BartvG88 Yes, of course it inhibits sexual pleasure - the foreskin contains 20,000+nerve endings. If you asked in communities where FGM is practiced, proponents would say that it has no affect on sex and it "looks better". There have also been studies that show FGM reduces risks of UTIs and STDs when performed by a doctor. There is no good reason to cut healthy, functioning sexual tissue from a child's body. Period.

@marcdaddy33 A person could argue that both forms of circumcision are mutilation and therefore wrong...although I will say that at least boys are done when they are infants and not at an age where they are starting to develop and able to feel the shame and violation that comes with the physical pain. They also don't disable the boys for their future performance and sensation capacity. They don't sew the boys shut either.
