I have been using demonstrations from Youtube on candle punches as training methods, as well as some new training methods of my own and thought I would post some of them. This candle punch training could take candle punching to a new level.

This exercise teaches a simple principle. It teaches you to snap your punches. This is no substitute for regular sparring practice, bag work, or martial arts practice.

  • @cajuncoonass This is an exercise to understand a simple "principle". This is not some special punching technique. If im at the bar and someone tries to pick up my "girlfriend", what is going to be aiding me is ten years of practice in various martial arts, a rigorous strength and exercise training regime, hours and hours of heavy bag work per week, and regular sparring practice. This exercise just teaches people to snap their punches. Maybe I didn't make my point clear enough.

  • put the candles at chest height and then try to punch them out. you will find this a lot harder as the air coming off your fist will be travelling horizontally. punching downward just flaps the flames out and it is incredebly easy to do

  • @elchewo1 - I agree in the most part. I would have used elevated candles, but unfortunately I had no method of raising them. It wasn't difficult but I wouldn't say it made it "indcredibly easy".

  • Just tried it. Knocked the candles over, burnt my finger and set my carpet on fire. What a day -.-

  • hhhhhhhhh donkey monkey

  • " Hurting innocent candles " I need to clean my display

  • How long did it take you to blow one candle out on your first try?

  • thnx for the vid, helped me with my speed, i live in a messed up neighborhood so it helped me alot to protect my self, especially against ppl who tried to jump me.

  • @BlackDice572 no need for elevated candles, just put it in higher place or use a tall candle. for example put it in a shelf.

  • @karasublue LOL

  • "AHHH!! HONEY!! THE KITCHEN'S ON FIRE!!!"

    runs in "i got this"

starts punching and kicking fires out

    "why'd you do that?"

    "To save water"

  • @karasublue - Well, I hope this hypothetical man hasn't spent ALL his time punching puddles. Because the vast majority of my training is spent on bag work, sparring, weight training/plyometrics, cardio, and technique practice.
